About LeaderShape : History
We began with The LeaderShape Institute®.
Originally developed in 1986 by Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity (ATO), the Institute was designed as a means of improving campus leadership. In 1988, LeaderShape®, Inc. was formed as a separate not-for-profit corporation to take charge of The LeaderShape Institute and further its mission of developing young adults to lead with integrityTM. LeaderShape, Inc. is governed by a Board of Trustees, operated by a staff of professionals, and supported by numerous committed volunteers. The creation of this independent not-for-profit corporation expanded the base of financial support and allowed access for a more diverse range of participants.
Our First Partnership
In 1992, the University of Michigan College of Engineering invited us to bring The LeaderShape Institute to its campus and run a session of the program exclusively for Michigan students. The success of this pilot project created the model for others to host campus/organization sessions of The LeaderShape Institute.
Now and in the Future
We're growing. Today, LeaderShape partners with institutions large and small, across the United States and throughout the world. In addition to the Institute, we're developing other programs (like our one-day offering, CatalystTM) in order to reach our vision of a just, caring, thriving world where everyone leads with integrityTM and a healthy disregard for the impossible.
